Celebrate!

It seems as if the entire last month of the year has been about cheer, festivities, and celebrating.  And then in just a few days, poof, it’s all over and many people experience a let down.  But it doesn’t have to be this way.  This quiet period between the holidays and the new year can be used for contemplation, planning, and celebrating past achievements.  Part of reflecting is noting what worked well so you can harness that energy and use it to make new desires come to life.

In the fall I was part of an online coaching group with Jamie Ridler and some gorgeous souls from around the globe. One of my favorite activities in the circle, was celebrating what I accomplished each week.  This list could include something small such as signing up for a class or something more intensive like organizing all my writing from the past few years.  Taking the time to list and celebrate my accomplishments for the previous week helped me to maintain momentum and to actually notice the breadth of what I was doing.  Like many of you, I’m a doer and sometimes lose perspective on how much I’m accomplishing.  This activity felt empowering and energizing.

As we move into a new year it’s important to review the year we are leaving behind as there are clues to what did and didn’t work for us in our lives.  A few ways to review 2010;

  • Take a trip through your 2010 calendar
  • Facebook posts
  • Twitter tweets
  • Blog postings
  • Email’s
  • Ask friends and family to reflect back with you

Take time to list your accomplishments, big and small and post them where you can see them.  You may be surprised at the growth and movement you did generate.  Keep it going.  This list is pure gold and can light the fire to igniting your dreams.  Next step, next blog post…letting go of the old…stay tuned through New Year’s Eve. More rituals ahead!

Tonight marks the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, a time of the most darkness, and after today the light begins to build.  You and your soul are tuned to nature. Consider what desires are closest to your core, deep within you.   Then set an intention around the seeds you want to plant in your life moving forward, allowing the growing light to assist their growth.

During the Soul Journey we traveled on this evening (via conference call) you were invited to walk into the Winter Solstice with an intention and you were offered a gift.  Each person’s journey is unique, no one will experience what you have.  You bring your way of processing information, your beliefs, and even how your day unfolded, into this Soul Journey.  The following are some suggestions for what to do after your journey and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about this process.

1) If you did not “see” anything during your journey, focus on what you felt.  You may be an auditory learner or not feel safe visualizing or being guided.  That’s ok, you will still receive many benefits from a journey.

2) If you received a symbol or an object that is puzzling, here are some ideas for you;

  • Journal with the object, giving it a voice and asking it to share its message for you. Ask “what do I need to know?”.
  • Ask for the meaning of the gift to be revealed to you during sleep time; ask to receive clarity in your dreams.
  • Stay open to receive clues and more information as time goes on.  Pay attention to things you hear, see, or notice most frequently after the soul journey and take note.   Messages are all around you, all you have to do is pay attention.
  • Collage, paint, draw the gift and allow more information to flow through art

3) Know that you can allow yourself to revisit this place or your favorite place in nature to connect to your soul at any time.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me.  I know with you that your seeds are planted and the light will continue to nurture your deepest desires.

If you’d like to share your journey experience, please feel free to leave a comment below as conversation is welcome here!
